Every clinic and hospital on Best Doctors and Clinics gets a free listing, free registration checks and free patient enquiries. A profile upgrade is an optional flat subscription that lets an establishment add more factual detail for patients. It is sold to clinics and hospitals only, never to individual doctors.
What an upgrade adds
- Facilities: equipment, beds, emergency services, parking, accessibility.
- Departments and services, with the doctors who practise in each, shown as factual entries.
- Fees and packages: consultation fees and treatment or health check packages, with what each covers.
- Hours, including evening, weekend and department-wise timings.
- Booking details: how patients book, phone and WhatsApp numbers, and a link to your own booking page.
We check what you send before it goes live. Fees and package prices carry the date we confirmed them.
How it is labelled
An upgraded profile carries the label “Upgraded profile” next to its name, in every list and on the profile itself. Patients can always see which profiles are paid for. This follows the ASCI Code for Self-Regulation of Advertising Content, which requires paid content to be clearly identifiable, and the National Medical Commission’s requirement that platforms keep listing practices transparent.
What an upgrade never buys
- A place in any list, or a higher position in one. Order follows our published rule and ignores upgrades.
- Removal of a competitor, or of anything accurate about your own establishment.
- Patient enquiries. These are always free and go only to the clinic the patient chose, whether it is upgraded or not.
- A registration check or a “checked” date. Checks are free and the same for everyone.
- Promotional photographs of doctors.
- Words such as “best”, “top”, “No.1”, “leading” or “most trusted”, or any comparison with other providers.
- Claims of cures, guaranteed results or success rates, testimonials, discounts or offers.
- Ratings or reviews.
- A badge, award or certificate to display elsewhere.
How it is priced
The upgrade is a flat subscription. The price is the same however many patients view your profile or send an enquiry. We charge no per-lead, per-call, per-booking or per-patient fees, and no share of any treatment fee. The NMC guidelines bar payments linked to procuring or referring individual patients (clauses 8.1(vii) and 8.1(viii)), and we built the pricing around that.
Content rules
Everything on an upgraded profile must be factual, current and something you can show us evidence for. It must also comply with the NMC Guidelines on Ethical Advertising and Public Communication of 6 October 2026, which allow hospitals and clinics to share factual information such as departments, facilities, accreditation and charges (clause 8.3). The doctors at your establishment remain answerable to their councils for what is published about them.
We can edit or refuse any copy that does not meet these rules, and we can end an upgrade if the rules are broken. We do not write promotional copy for you.
How to ask about an upgrade
Write to us through the listing form and choose the upgrade option, or mention it in your message. If your establishment is not listed yet, we will set up the free listing first.
Common questions
Can an individual doctor buy an upgrade?
No. Upgrades are sold only to clinics and hospitals. A doctor’s own profile is always free and factual.
Will an upgrade bring us more patients?
We cannot promise that, and we do not sell patients. An upgrade gives patients more facts to decide with. Your position in lists stays exactly where our rule puts it.
What happens when an upgrade ends?
The extra detail and the label are removed, and your free listing stays as it was.
