You should always be able to tell what on this site is paid for. This page lists everything we are paid for today and how each one is labelled.
What is paid
One thing: profile upgrades. Clinics and hospitals can pay a flat subscription to add factual detail to their own profile, such as departments, facilities, hours, fees, packages and booking details. The detail is on profile upgrades for clinics.
What is not paid
- Inclusion in the directory, and the order of any list.
- Registration checks and “checked” dates.
- Guides, cost guides and shortlists. No provider pays to be mentioned, and none can review or approve what we write.
- Patient enquiries. They are free and go only to the clinic the patient chose.
We run no display advertising, no sponsored listings or sponsored rankings, no sponsored articles and no affiliate links. If that ever changes, we will update this page first and label every paid item where it appears.
How paid profiles are labelled
Every clinic or hospital with an upgrade shows the label “Upgraded profile” next to its name, wherever it appears: in lists, in search results on the site and on the profile itself. The label stays for as long as the upgrade is active.
We follow the Advertising Standards Council of India’s code and guidelines, which require paid content to be clearly marked as such and not made to look like editorial content. An upgrade never changes where a profile appears, which is the National Medical Commission’s rule for platforms that host doctors (clause 9.4 of the guidelines of 6 October 2026).
Report an unlabelled paid placement
If you think something on this site is paid for but not labelled, or that a paid profile has been placed higher than our published rule allows, please tell our grievance officer. Include the web address of the page. We will look into it and tell you what we found.
You can also complain to ASCI about any advertisement you believe is misleading, through the ASCI website.
